The Ordeal is the induction process to become an official member of the Order of the Arrow. Madockawanda provides three opportunities each year for Ordeal candidates to join our lodge. Please read through the information below so you can be prepared for your Ordeal and get the best out of the induction experience.
Registration & Cost
Ordeal Candidates will receive a letter in the mail with the official Ordeal registration form. It’s the candidates responsibility to fill out and submit the form as soon as possible along with the $45 fee, copy of the candidates BSA medical forms (Part A&B).
Friday check in will begin at 7:00pm and last until 7:45pm. Sunday check out will begin approximately around 9:45am.

Class A Uniform, Work clothes, Towel, Sleeping Bag, Ground Pad, Shoes, Pocket Knife, Water Bottle, Work Gloves, Personal Hygiene Items(Tooth Brush, Etc.) Insect Spray, Watch, Swim Trunks, Hat, Sun Glasses, Boots, Warm Socks, Fleece or Jacket, Rain Coat or Poncho, Personal First Aid Kit, Pen or Pencil, Notebook, Backpack or Daypack, Small Mess Kit, Pack or Duffel Bag, and extra spending money for the lodge store.
Please also bring a copy of your BSA medical forms (Part A & B), if you did not send them in with your registration form. Cell phones are allowed to be brought, however we ask that you don’t use or carry them around during the Ordeal process of the weekend.
